James MacCurrach has been marketing the beef at Tagmoor Farm since 2002 and is now ably assisted by his wife Anna. They chose 'Love My Cow' as a brand name as they think it conveys the message that if you buy your beef from them, then you are helping them continue their tradition of honest and simple farming that produces great tasting beef.
The herd of Hereford cattle are grazed on permanent pastures over looking the Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water during the summer, and then fed on home grown hay and silage during the winter. The calves remain with their mothers for about nine months and after weaning stay on the farm, growing nice and slowly, until they are about 24 months old. When they are ready they are taken on a short journey to a local abattoir. After 21 days the beef is collected and brought back to the farm, ready for customers to pick up or have delivered. James takes great pride in being able to supply local customers and no order is too small. Our homemade burgers, currently available in two varieties – The Original and The Italian – are available from a pack of two to a batch of two hundred! Full details of all the cuts can be found their website where you can also 'book your beef'. Feel free to contact us at any time - they can be found on twitter, facebook and even have a monthly blog. They love their cows and hope you do too!
