I visited this pub a few weeks ago with my parents. We were welcomed by a lovely roaring fire and the smell of tasty food. We noticed there are two 'sections' to the pub, one consisting of a pool table and juke box. The other section is focused on dining, and is beautifully decorated.
The staff were very warm, attentive and polite, giving us recommendations and answering questions we had. My parents had the pie (Hooky pie) which was a beef and ale pie which was delicious, flaky pastry, rich succulent filling and side orders to chose from. I had fish and chips which were some of the best fish and chips I had eaten for a long time.
There is a garden outside (although too cold when we went) which looks lovely, and ample parking. Overall we spent a lovely afternoon eating good wholesome tasty food with some beers and bottles of red wine. Sharon, the owner came over and asked if we had enjoyed everything and showed us her two beautiful golden retrievers. The village itself is stunning, and worth a walk round (if you can manage it) afterwards to look at the quintessential cotswold architecture.
Fabulous afternoon, can't wait to go back!
